The behaviour patterns of children with autism spectrum disorders and the behaviour patterns of children with childhood onset schizophrenia are very much alike. THE ONE KEY DIFFERENCE is that the behaviour of children with schizophrenia is extremely variable and episodic whereas the behaviour of children with ASD is pervasive.
